Distribution
Hotel channel manager built into the PMS
A channel manager keeps your availability and rates the same everywhere you sell. Checkaut’s is not a separate product bolted on — it reads the same inventory the front desk does, so there is no sync window for an oversell to appear in.
Where oversells actually come from
Oversells are usually blamed on the OTA. They are almost always a timing problem. When the PMS and the channel manager hold two copies of availability, every sync is a window where both can sell the same room.
The gap is small — often under a minute — but a busy property sells into it eventually, and the cost lands on the front desk at 11pm with a guest holding a confirmation.
Removing the second copy removes the window. When distribution reads the same live inventory as the front desk, a room sold on Booking.com is unavailable everywhere the instant it is sold.
Channels Indian hotels actually sell on
Inventory and rates stay in sync with the channels that matter for Indian properties, including Booking.com, MakeMyTrip, Agoda and Airbnb, alongside your own direct booking engine.
Direct bookings are treated as first-class rather than an afterthought, because they are the channel you keep the full rate on.
Repeated channel events cannot duplicate a booking
OTAs retry. Webhooks get delivered twice. A network blip during a modification means the same event arrives again a minute later.
A distribution layer that is not built for this creates duplicate reservations, duplicate charges and duplicate postings — and the duplicates are discovered days later during reconciliation. Checkaut treats repeated payment and channel events as the same event, so a retry cannot create a second reservation, charge or posting.
Frequently asked
Do I need a separate channel manager if I use Checkaut?
No. Distribution is part of the platform and reads the same inventory as the front desk, which is what removes the sync window that causes oversells. There is no second subscription and no mapping between two systems to maintain.
How fast does availability update on the OTAs?
Inventory is written once and pushed as the change happens rather than on a polling schedule. The room is held internally the moment it is sold, so the front desk never sells a room that an OTA has already taken.
